Yes. Inuyasha is ending. Get over it!

Filed under: Chapters, Random, Spoilers — Starks at 5:55 pm on Tuesday, June 10, 2008

After 12 long years…As you wait for my scanlation of 557, which should be out Wednesday afternoon (hopefully), I feel it is important to clear the air regarding rumors on teh Internets that have been circulating for a few days. By now, you’ve all probably heard the news from unofficial, yet reliable sources that the Inuyasha manga would be coming to an end with chapter 558 next week. Well, we finally have an official confirmation from Shogakukan, the company that publishes Inuyasha each week, up on the Shounen Sunday website.

While there are no details on the format of the final chapter, the likelihood of there being at least 22 pages is high. Conversely, the chance of seeing color pages is quite low. This is due to the fact that Shounen Sunday has a tendency to only allow only 2 series per week to have color pages. The spots for next week’s issue were already taken by Golden Age and the debut of Traumaster. Unfortunately, much like other series that have recently ended their run in Shounen Sunday, namely Gash Bell (Zatch Bell), all indications suggest that Inuyasha will not be granted a special exception to have color.

What we do have instead, is a rather short, yet intriguing preview for 558 from the Shounen Sunday website. I will put that up in a seperate post so as not to anger those that would prefer to be not be spoiled. The title of this final chapter will more than likely be revealed with the cellphone preview later this week. Further details will have to wait until the spoilers leak over the weekend.

Long time reader, don’t post very often though.  I don’t have any input on today’s post, either.  I do, however, want to pass on my sincere thanks to Starks and Patches, Kuro, the folks from AdInuyasha, and everyone else who does work along these lines.  Thank you for bringing such a great series to those of us who don’t speak Japanese.  I really appreciate the work you do week in and week out.  I’ve looked forward to the middle of the week for years so that I could read the InuYasha manga.  Again, my thanks.

As much as I want the manga to have an ending, I have to say that I don’t want it to end.  I am going to miss following the adventures, I’m going to miss the weekly speculation, the stories, and the characters.  I’ve been following this for almost six years now, since I discovered anime.  InuYasha was the anime that turned me on to the entire culture.  I’ve discovered a passion because of it, and it’s a passion that I don’t see ending anytime soon.  For this reason, I will always be a fan of InuYasha.

I don’t plan on reading the spoiler.  I plan on reading the final chapter and being totally surprised by it.  I hope it’s long, and I hope it wraps up well.

So once again, Thank you, Starks.  And thank you Rumiko Takahashi.  Thanks for a wild ride.

Even if it is official, how can we know this is truly the end?  I mean seriously, anyone who knows Rumiko Takahashi has to know that she doesn’t quit just like that (even if this was the intended end), shes known to drag things out.  What if all of the sudden she has a dream and it has an AMAZING story to it.

Although, I’m pretty convinced that this probably is the real ending–Hey a girl can dream can’t she?– I’d like to thank Starks, Patches, Kuro, and everyone else who helped out on making this so much easier for us fans who actually stuck with Inuyasha to the end.  You guys put so much work into making it tolerable, through all of those pointless fights, and everyone still stuck to it, even when knew what the outcome would be.

I’ve got to say that these last chapters have put a twist on everything my mind thought Inuyasha was.  Rumiko is a great, gifted artist, and I am very thankful for her astonishing talent.  She really has put her whole heart into this series– or rather Manga.

The shock of this series finally being over, actually over, hasn’t set in yet.  And I’m afraid of what might happen when it does.  I love this Manga so much, its been like a wild rollercoaster, and Freelance has been our harness.  Keeping us attached to it, making sure we don’t fall off.  In the end I really do hope that Inuyasha and Kagome end up together.  And that they might continue the Anime.  I’m not giving up hope for that ever!

And once again, for the third time, Thank you so much Starks, Patches, and Kuro, for all your hard work!!  We all love you!!

i’m truly amazed and glad that inuyasha is going to end very soon. first off before i state my opinions i would like to thank stark and others involved in the scanlation of inuyasha. now on with my rant. well like i said before i’m glad inuyasha is ending soon. rumiko has just stretched the manga out for too long. it should have ended a long time ago yet her greed, in my opinion made her ruin a really great manga. my only wish is that she doesn’t screw up the manga by making the last chapter terrible. i’m definitely looking forward to the last chapter :D.

mapThis is johnnyboy and if the InuYasha manga is truly ending there are a few things I would like to say. First of I would like to thank Stark and all of his affiliates for bringing us InuYasha chapters every week. I am like GOALTAYLOR3315, InuYasha was the anime that thrusted me into the anime culture. Getting into anime and becoming a die hard InuYasha fan was one of the best things that ever happened to me. Dispite how much I love this story, I do want the this story to end soon but only if it ends the right way. All love stories must end with the couples getting together (InuYasha and Kagome must confess their love, and sango and miroku must get married like promissed), and all story arcs must coming to a proper end. I know those are high demands but that is what every InuYasha fan wants. So I am looking forward to these last few chapters to see what happens and hope with all my heart that a new InuYasha anime series will come out in the near future.

I AM DROOLING WITH ANTICIPATION, SO TAKAHASHI YOU BETTER NOT DISAPPOINT YA HEAR!!!!!!!!

P.S. I forgot to mention Stark if the last Chapter is going to be posted on June 18, 2008. I think you should know that day is my BIRTHDAY. I am turning 21 years old so if this is really the end of InuYasha it will probably my favorite and most memorable birthday in my life. I feel like such a special person right about now. It is such a huge irony that I turn 21 on the day my favorite anime ends. I MEAN WHAT ARE THE CHANCES.

Could I please get a response stark.

I used to just watch people read anime, I had never thought it was something I would like, but when I started reading I just could not stop. I’m absolutly in love with manga just because I looked at what all of the fuss was all about. Thank you Starks, Patches, Kuro, and everyone else for this amazing anime.

I never liked books that I hadn’t heard a good ending of because most of them would just have an all to happy ending, which I was OK with, or they’d end in such a sobstory that I’d waste time thinking of them. But I’ve never been happier with myself since I started on this anime, I just think that even though the best was not entirely there, it was better than anything that I’ve seen before it.

I really wish it didn’t have to end. I always wish authors would continue, but it’s all in your rights. If you ever decide to continue this in years to come, or do stories on how the characters grew up, please don’t hold back. If you wish for this to continue, but don’t wish to do everything, there are probably hundreds of fans who will help, and thousands of ideas to go on, and being an artist who just loves to work on ideas, there would be no problems in the continuation, all we would need is guidence. maybe just think of plotlines and have groups work on them or just post an idea and have a rubberband ball of paths work from there, just getting bigger untill we drop it and see what stays on.

I’m one who is desperate not to see things end, but to carry on forever, with some help and ideas from the creators, nothing has to end and feels better knowing that we didn’t just make stuff in desperation, but had the great ones (you guys Smiley angels of anime) work with us and thereby making it continuation that satisfies the heart and soul. Not just fanime fun.

But this isn’t all about my desperate attempts to make you have some form of continuation, it is about praise, thanks, and the fact that I haven’t seen any posts from this half of the year and wondered who was still here

From glancing to staying up all weekend once a month to go over everything again, this anime has everything on my perspective, thank you, every one of you, for the afully amazing work you do.

Anything from the idea of how to get ideas give you an idea of something? Please for something, thanks for everything.
