Let's clear the air…

Filed under: Chapters — Starks at 12:21 am on Sunday, March 28, 2010

Okay, episode 26 airs in about 30 hours and I feel compelled to reiterate everything I know about the presentation of the episode and what we should expect.

  • There will be new background music.
  • Chapters 556, 557, and 558 will be covered.
  • The episode has a 30 minute slot (24 usable minutes).
  • Yoshihito Hishinuma is the animation director.

Beyond that, there is nothing to know. No news of anything in terms of a special ending theme or expanded epilogue.

Edit: However, given the release of Inuyasha Best Song History a few days ago, I wouldn't be surprised if "My Will" is used again.

At any rate, if you intend to bawl your eyes out and cry hysterically at the ending, however it turns out, know that I will not be joining you.

Finally, I have no plans to shut this site down yet or change its focus in the short-term. Domain is still good until September and I will likely be renewing it for another year just for the hell of it and in order to perhaps blog about the dub when it comes out.

Edit: I'll try to upload raws of Black Tessaiga and the other It's A Rumic World OVAs on Monday or Tuesday.

Yay, first!

Yeah, yeah, I have no life. Well, it's good to know that you'll keep this site up for a little longer. I just wish that sometimes they wouldn't "dumb" down the anime. But well I guess they have to in order for the speaking voices to sync with the moving lips. And no, I will not be "crying hysterically" or "bawling my eyes out" as you so eloquently put it. I will feel a little sad, but only because of the fact that I've watched this anime for so long, all the way to the end, it will feel like bye to an old friend. True, there will always be reruns and of course, when it comes out on dvd (or maybe blu-ray!), but it's not the same as looking forward to next week for a new episode. Ah well, all good things must come to an end, and this is no exception. It was an awesome run and I'm glad I found this site to talk about one of my favorite animes with other people who had the same likes as me. Until then, see ya at the end!

Hi Maria,
I'm glad I found another fan who thinks almost the same as me. :) I'll be sad and maybe I'll cry a little (just because I can only cry almost everything – it's a bad quality of mine so I have to bear with it XD) but I won'T eb sad long. I'm from Hungary and it is said that the Final Act would arrive to us dubbed in summer so I'm looking forward to it! Even if the episodes from 113 to 167 haven't been out, now even on the channels…

I could agree more with both Maria and SchRita. I too will not cry, but indeed I will be very sad. It is like saying goodbye to a good friend as Maria put it; I mean come on, its been how many years? Haha.
I've loved the Inuyasha series ever since they started airing it on adultswim, and enjoyed the weekly chapters (thanks Starks! You've done a lot for us!) I am also looking forward for the english adaption, even though I like the Japanese dub better.
Very anxious for Monday, but I don't want to rush it. *sigh..* Now I have no reason to look forward to Mondays anymore. Haha.
Till then everyone! :)

Well I won't be one of those fans bawling thier eyes out (hopefully) but I also have a nasty habit of crying too much for this sort of stuff, especially Inuyasha. This series will always have an extra specia place in my heart, afterall, it was the series that got me to become an otaku in the first place. That led to me making the friends for life I have now(even if they aren't into anime anymore I still have strong bonds with them) and, well, you get the idea.
So yes, I will be very sad to see it end, just as I was sad to see the manga end, but I am satisfied with the ending, I think Takahashi-sensei did a wonderful job on this series.
One last thing, something that would ease my pain WOULD be that if they had extra material like a kiss/wedding/epilogue, but I'm not gonna get my hopes up. Oh well, I'll continue to read Rinne, and show Inuyasha to my kids in the distant future to keep it alive.
Sorry if that all sounded corney but I wanted to get some of it off my chest now so that I can devote the day to getting this annoying paper done -_- See you all tomorrow! :D

I’m so excited for the final episode; I’ve been looking forward to it all week. Also, I’m glad to know that Starks is keeping up the website. I look forward to seeing your reviews (if you choose to do them, I mean) on the English Dub whenever they come out. I’m very happy that I found this site, because it has given me an opportunity to show my love and appreciation for a great manga and anime :)

In any case, we all knew it was going to end once they announced they we’re finishing the series, but I’m still sad that its going to be over. I’ve been a fan of InuYasha since it aired on Adult Swim in 2002. Honestly, for me, this show opened the door to many other great anime/manga, however, InuYasha will always be my all-time favorite. Rumiko has done an excellent job with this series, and I applaud her for that.

I’ve already stated this in a past post, and although I highly doubt it will happen, I still want the “InuYasha and Kagome kiss.” Call me a fan-girl, I don’t care, lol. I fully expect Sunrise to stay true to the final chapters of the manga though, so I’m not gonna get my hopes up. However, if the DO sneak that kiss in, I hope no one hears or sees me.. I might start freaking out XD

Anyways, I look forward to tomorrow, and your review Starks.
Thanks everyone!!

If you giving news, couldnt they be better. The finale doesnt even sound like it ll be special. You news sounds like this final episode will just pass as an ordinary one with no surprises.

Leave it to Sunrise to try and give us a special treat….

mapLela, you said it best — Its been a long fun journey. What I am gonna be sad about is not IY finally coming to end, but the fansites and the fanfics, etc eventually coming to an end. I think that's what has been so exciting about IY is stuff like this. I always liked visiting them to get other fans' perspective on the series. I always loved reading a good IY fanfic whether it be serious or a really good parody. Sadly, sites like ear tweak, the Fluffy Mag, and doggieear lover have stopped updating. Even OM has pulled IY. Some sites have shut down. Now this makes me wanna cry. WAAAHHH!!!! I know there is AS and the IY board, but there is only so much about freaking fanclubs threads I can take. I mean like WTF! Post something stupid. Mix it up already. Plus the fans have changed. Is it me or are these new fans more PC??? Also, there seem to be like 2 PEOPLE dominating the board. You know who you are….Anyhow, sad to see the camraderie among fans go and the sites too. This sucks cuz I really really love the IY series. Its the best since Leiji Matsumoto's Uchu Senkan Yamato(aka Star Blazers) from the late 70s. Yep, I'm dating myself. Glad to see freelance will be here another year. I'll come back and cry when I see no one posting. WAAAAAHHHH!!!!! again.

Anyhow, in 30 hours I will be handing the mis-management company who has been mismanaging my condo for 6 years an 8 pg Termination Letter and watching them cry. I'll be handing them their ass as well like when Moryoumaru handed Sessh his in their epic duel in 407 and 408. Thank you Starks for your scanlations!!! :)

So, tell me, for curiosity's sake, why I should give a damn whether or not you'll be joining me. If I cry at the end, that is none of your business or concern, so why do you think it's any of MINE if you do so? If I should know that you will not be joining in the bawling, YOU should know that your opinion is certainly not my biggest issue at the end of this long road, especially since I'm pretty sure you don't give a damn about what I think or do.

Get off of the pedestal already, and stop acting like I'm going to mourn the fact that you are not going to react to the end the same way I am.

Are you serious? You're reading a blog site about Stark's take on things, and you're surprised/upset you're getting his take on things?

If you're that over-sensitive, stop visiting the site or something. No one's compelling you to read whether or not Stark is going to cry at the end of the series.

I wouldn't have had a problem with the statement if he had just said, "I'm not going to cry at the end," because that's not the issue here. The wording of the sentence suggested that we should not only give a flying f**k about what his emotional reaction would be, but that we should be utterly distraught that those who are going to (or already have) cry would not have his company.

This is about his attitude regarding everyone that READS this thing. He's always trying to pass it off as though he doesn't care about, or even hates, Inuyasha. Then why are you doing this, Starks? Why bother posting this, having a website, or any other measures you've taken to be an "authority" on the subject if you don't care?

What's more, you try to make people feel inferior if they feel differently. Well, Zenkai, you may want to put up with that type of cowardly bulls**t, but I'm not going to. Starks is just a jerk for the sake of being a jerk, if not for the sake of trying to pass himself off as an impartial judge, and you guys are letting him get away with it.

Aside from that, everything was great

Okay, small rant right now, big rant to come tomorrow. Initial reaction: I was biting my nails I guess at the time of the kiss (don't ask), and when it happened, I think I nearly bit my whole finger off. Yeah, it was a bit akwardly animated, but hey, I think I'll take it. KYAAA They actually did it! :D

OMG!

Just saw the episode and I loved it. And since everyone is talking about it (the kiss), I'll go ahead and put my two cents in. I think it was a sweet kiss, which I think suits them, because if it had been an "I'm-gonna-eat-your-face" kinda kiss, that would have just made me wanna beat the screen with a two by four. True, they could have thrown it in when she came out of the well, but beggars can't be choosers. But the lip-lock I probably would have liked to have seen was Kouga's and Ayame's. That wolf is so gonna be whooped! Well, right now, I'll just sit back and chill for awhile, let the episode sink in. Catch everyone later!

Eh? Does that even make sense as a question? I responded because of the oversensitivity; why would it be an impediment?

Tomato+Avo:
The wording of the sentence suggested that we should not only give a flying f**k about what his emotional reaction would be, but that we should be utterly distraught that those who are going to (or already have) cry would not have his company.

I rest my case. You're getting flustered over superficial interpretations that no one else cares about.

Tomato+Avo:
Well, Zenkai, you may want to put up with that type of cowardly bulls**t, but I'm not going to. Starks is just a jerk for the sake of being a jerk, if not for the sake of trying to pass himself off as an impartial judge, and you guys are letting him get away with it.

How is giving an opinion cowardly? Sometimes I wonder if people throw in derogatory descriptors just for the sake of making someone look bad, rather than it being realistic. Big whoop, Starks didn't cry. Get over it, princess.

*sudden tangent*

Anyway, for episode 26 itself, it was probably my favourite episode of Final Act, with episode 8 being a close second. Saw that Starks wasn't a big fan of Sunrise's addition of the kiss in the middle of the episode, but I personally enjoyed all of the non-canonical additions (which is a rarity for me, having suffered through multiple back-to-back filler episodes in the original series).
