Who shot Kohaku?

(Yes, I just made a Dallas reference, get over it.)

Episode 20: When the Shikon no Tama is complete
(完成する四魂の玉 Kansei suru shikon no tama)

Chapters covered: Rest of 525 through 529

No complaints this week. Panel-for-panel adaptation of the manga courtesy of Maezawa and Tachibana. The attention to detail was impressive, but the animation itself was quite good save for a few instances of oddly-drawn facial expressions. There was one noticeable instance of artistic license this week and it kind of threw me for a loop. As the jewel was completing, Sunrise made it shatter in a bright, pink flash before recombining completely filled with darkness. Aside from that, no deviations. Because this week was quite faithful, the tone and feelings of the chapters covered were kept and executed very well. No shortage of tears this week.

Next week marks the beginning of the Naraku arc and while this will take us through the end of the manga, Sunrise's pacing for 24, 25, and 26 will make or break the anime.

Gosh, I confess I cried in the end of the ep. I really liked how they made Kohaku's Rebirth, it was very touching…

I thought some of the art was a little weird this week, too… Everyone's eyes were oddly circular and child-like. Kagome, judging by her facial features, didn't seem the least bit perturbed when Naraku brought her to his chest with his tentacles things. Just kinda… expressionless. The scene when Sesshy-sama was flying off thinking, "They want to seal my magnificent swords!", he had a REALLY pointy chin… Like, REALLY pointy. I dunno. Just a little off.

But all in all, a good ep. Next week = INTO THE GIANT SPIDER!!!

Really good episode.! Followed the manga quite well! I thought the mood was good too.
Very anxious for next week! But sad as well…. we are reaching our climax. *sniff*  :(

When the jewel shattered, I actually said out loud "That didn't happen." xD But I actually like what they did – anyone notice that hidden in each of the shards were images of the people who had shards throughout the story? The carrion crow, and Bankotsu and such. xD I dunno, I just thought that was really awesome.

I think… Kohaku should've stayed dead… Sorry kids, but he didn't really serve much of a purpose after this part. At least I don't think.

Ummm what else? Good episode. Next week should be good.
BUT IT'S ENDING SOON *cries*

I actually really loved this episode. I agree that the facial features could have been done better, but everything else was wonderful in my opinion. I especially loved the part when the jewel broke apart again. It was so nostalgic to see all of those old characters, going back to the crow in the beginning of the series. When they all came together I was like "WOW" that was amazing! So beautifully done.

mapThe first time I read the manga and saw Kohaku come back to life, I didn't see it coming and I can't remember if I was dissappointed that he came back or happy. There's a discussion in other manga series how it can be a weak devise to kill off characters and bring them back to life, but I think this one was necessary once you think about it. I mean, it's not that much a development for Kohaku, you have to think outside the box and think of Kikyo (yes, she has development even after death). She chose to save the life of one boy she barely knew rather than destroy the monster that killed her. If you think about it, this was the final step she took to truly releasing all the anger she died with. She feels no more negative emotions, only love, and therefore she can rest easy as he wonderful person she was in life.

Okay, sorry for the long post, just had to put that out there.

I really loved this episode as you all did! The music of Kohakus's death was really touching. Was really wonderful when we saw every shikon shard with the faces of the evils who had in their own their respectively  fragments once. Bankotsu and kaigeromaru were so easier to recognize but there were difficult  ones XD.~
In addition this episode was made panel by panel showing plenty of details and lil things in order to be much easier for us to understand few things.
The shikon no tama has been completed in a really good episode.
Thepreview seems to be really superb!
Whe i watch to it i said to myself "this ep will be lovely jubbly!"
^W^

Eventhough I knew what happened, I still cried. The added touch with the sun rise and Kohaku's rebirth was fucking amazing. Couldn't have asked for a better end.

Um, this is just guesswork from various translators.
Ep. 24 A vain wish
Ep. 25 Desire that does not reach ; thought that does not arrive
Ep. 26 (To) Tomorrow

@RandomGuy

I agree with the translation for the most part. Though I don't get the point of episode 25's title. If I remember right, it should be 'Feelings that ARE delivered' but from my limited knowledge you are correct. Oh well, we'll have to see.

HEY FLOKS!
i'VE JUST FOUND OUT STH ON EPISODE 19!
When kohaku is possesed by Magatsuhi, in the manga we can see a magatsuhi with a scar on his right eye… while in the anime we didn't. It was a magatsuhi with both eyes…

The episode was awesome, the end is coming soon, what are we to do?  All I know is, when can I have a ride on Sesshoumaru's moko-sama?

BRILLIANT I SAY!

I found that MUCH MUCH more emotional than in the manga

I DID shed a tear and I've never even been that touched really by the whole Sango/kohaku arch…but this…THIS. was very well done

good episode

I like how Inuyasha's hair flowed when he swung his sword in this episode

his two side hair things…seemed really short though.like they were floaring haha
